What It Is

Polished concrete.

Polished concrete is fundamentally different from any coating system. Instead of putting something on top of the slab, we transform the slab itself — diamond-grinding tools and chemical densifiers progressively refine the concrete surface to a glass-like shine, with no resin, no epoxy, and nothing to peel or chip down the road.

Because the polish is the concrete itself (sealed at the molecular level), polished concrete is the toughest, longest-lasting floor we install in [[CITY]]. It has a Mohs-7 surface hardness, zero added VOCs, and lasts decades in retail, office, restaurant, and modern home environments with very low maintenance.

Three gloss levels — matte, satin, and showroom-grade high gloss — and optional acid stains or dyes let you add real color depth. Because aggregate exposure varies naturally across a slab, every polished floor has a unique, organic look that's impossible to replicate with a coating.

Ideal for: retail, offices, warehouses, restaurants, modern homes & showrooms.

Why It Works

The benefits in plain terms.

No jargon — just what makes this system worth the money.

Diamond-Ground Shine

Glass-like polish without any coating — the slab itself is the finish.

Mohs-7 Hardness

Densified concrete is harder than coated floors and resists scratches and impact.

Zero Added VOCs

Densifiers and stains used are low- or zero-VOC and safe for occupied spaces.

Optional Stain or Dye

Add real color depth with acid stains or dyes — translucent, layered, and permanent.

Three Gloss Levels

Matte for modern interiors, satin for offices, or high gloss for retail showrooms.

Decades of Wear

Properly polished concrete in commercial spaces routinely lasts 20+ years with minimal upkeep.

Our Process

How we install your polished concrete.

01

Initial Coarse Grind

Diamond grinding at coarse grit to open the slab, remove imperfections, and (optionally) expose aggregate.

02

Densifier Application

Apply a chemical densifier that reacts with the concrete and hardens the surface at the molecular level.

03

Progressive Polish

Move through 4–9 progressively finer diamond grits to bring up the shine — this is where the look is built.

04

Sealer & Guard

Apply a penetrating sealer or stain guard for spill protection and to lock in the final finish.

Pricing

What goes into the number.

Every space is different — these are the main things that move pricing up or down. We don't quote averages; we quote your floor.

01

Square Footage

Polishing is equipment-heavy, so larger floors see meaningful per-foot savings. Small floors carry minimum mobilization.

02

Aggregate Exposure

Cream-finish (no aggregate) is fastest. Salt-and-pepper or full-exposure aggregate requires deeper grinding passes.

03

Gloss Level

Matte requires fewer passes. Showroom-grade high gloss can require 7–9 progressive grit passes.

04

Color & Sealer

Natural-gray is included. Acid stains, dyes, and premium guard sealers are upgrades.

FAQ

Polished Concrete questions.

Most slabs can — but quality varies. Newer, harder slabs polish to a higher shine. Slabs with heavy damage, soft mixes, or old coatings need extra prep. A site visit tells us what's possible.
Polished concrete IS the concrete — there's no coating to peel, chip, or yellow. Epoxy and flake are layered systems applied on top. Polished is harder and lasts longer; coatings give you decorative options polished can't.
Polished concrete has a coefficient of friction similar to other hard floors when dry. We can apply a slip-resistant penetrating sealer for entries and wet-area applications.
Properly densified and sealed concrete resists most spills, but acidic spills (wine, citrus, vinegar) should be wiped quickly. A premium guard sealer adds another layer of protection.
Polishing is more equipment- and labor-intensive than coatings, so pricing varies widely by square footage, aggregate exposure, and gloss level. A free estimate gives you a real number for your slab.
